Late Registration Fees

In fiscal year 2004, ending June 30, 2004, $33,105 in late registration filing fees were collected from 395 organizations which did not file the annual registration on time.  The fee is $25 per month for each month the registration is late.  It is deposited to a fund which supports the Secretary of State's Office and administration and compliance activities under the Solicitation of Charitable Funds Act to protect West Virginians from fraudulent solicitors.

Making an Inquiry or Complaint

If you believe a charitable organization or professional fundraiser is acting in violation of the law, there are several ways to contact us about the problem.

• Call the Charitable Organizations staff at (304) 558-6000 or (866) SOS-VOTE to discuss the problem or question.
